I have always loved animals and had many family pets while growing up but was unsure what I could do to work with them on a day-to-day basis. As I was going through high school I was exploring the idea of many different career paths (nursing, x-ray technician, personal training) but nothing seemed to stick. When I was a year out of high school my childhood dog, Max, suddenly passed away. As sad as this was, it lit a spark in me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. I wanted to make sure I knew how to help animals like him in the future. I graduated from Northern College’s Veterinary Technician program in 2021. I am so grateful to have been hired as a new graduate at Cambrian Animal Hospital! My favorite thing about my job is how I am constantly learning something new and getting to see all the wagging tails that walk through the door! What I love most about the clinic is how close-knit our team is and how much fun we have on a day-to-day basis.
I am an aspiring RVT and so I am planning to write my National Registration Exam in the very near future to achieve my registration. An area of veterinary medicine that interests me the most is emergency medicine. I like the idea of the quick pace, seeing a large variety of unique cases and being kind of a detective investigating what is going on with each patient.
I have two pets, my dog Charlie (pictured) and my kitten Lily. A fun fact about me is I love to travel and plan on doing as much of it as I can in the future.
