On October 17th, 2018 Cannabis was legalized in Canada. As marijuana can be toxic in our pets at high dosages, it is crucial for pet owners to be careful. Please put gummy bears or any related edibles away so your pet can’ get into them.
Legalization for marijuana extract can sometimes be used for our pets to treat pain, anxiety, seizures and inflammation. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol the phys coactive component) is removed from the plant because THC is toxic to pets. Marijuana extracts that do not contain THC have many potential benefits to pets, but further clinical studies must be done for safety and dosing factors.
Pets should never be given cannabis recreationally. It could put them into a life threating situation which can lead to death.
