Blood Tests

Our hospital is equipped with a state of the art laboratory. This allows us to perform most bloodwork in-clinic and our veterinarians can review the results in a very short period of time. The in-house laboratory allows our veterinarians to get rapid, accurate results from your dog.

Why are blood tests for dogs important?

Blood tests are an important tool for our veterinarians because they give a snapshot of the internal workings of the dog to help with the diagnosis in an ill patient. In healthy animals, the blood tests give an important baseline for the normal values of that particular patient.

How do I understand the blood test results?

Our veterinarians and our veterinary technicians are more than happy to explain the blood test results to you and discuss normal vs. abnormal results with you. We want to make sure that you understand your dog’s tests and we will answer any questions you may have about the tests or your dog’s health!
